About the Blackjack Probability Lab

The Blackjack Probability Lab is an educational platform that uses Monte Carlo simulation and probability theory to explain blackjack expected value, house edge, variance, and risk of ruin. We publish original simulation data and methodology so that our calculations can be independently verified.

Authorship & Review

  • Editorial lead: The Blackjack Probability Lab editorial team.
  • Statistical review: All probability calculations and simulation outputs are reviewed for internal consistency against published blackjack strategy and house-edge references before publication.
  • Content type: Educational analysis and original simulation data. We do not provide gambling advice or betting recommendations.

Note: Replace this section with a named author and a qualified reviewer to strengthen E-E-A-T signals for gambling-related content.

Methodology Summary

  • • House edge and expected value are derived from combinatorial analysis and confirmed with Monte Carlo simulation.
  • • Simulations use a configurable shoe (1–8 decks), realistic table rules, and basic strategy decision tables.
  • • Risk-of-ruin and drawdown figures are computed across simulated hand counts up to 100,000+.
  • • Full methodology, assumptions, and limitations are documented on the Methodology page.

Sources & Assumptions

  • • Basic strategy decision tables follow widely published blackjack strategy charts.
  • • Rule-impact percentages (e.g., 6:5 adds ~1.4%, soft-17 adds ~0.22%) are standard references from academic and industry analysis.
  • • Simulation parameters are fully configurable in the Simulator for independent verification.

Version & Corrections Policy

  • Simulator version: 1.0. Updated September 2026.
  • Editorial policy: All figures are sourced from our simulation engine or standard references. We do not guarantee short-term outcomes.
  • Corrections: If you find a calculation error, please report it. We publish corrections transparently and update affected figures and methodology.
  • Update cadence: Methodology and rule-impact tables are reviewed at least annually or when rules change.
